Everybody Wants to Be Italian (2007)
Eight years ago, his relationship with his girlfriend ended. Well, let’s say he broke up with her 3-4 times already and also cheated on her. It was the time she just had enough, so she showed him the door. Now she’s married, has 3 children and he’s still in love with her. Each year, on their anniversary, he’s there, dressed to the nines, with flowers and the ring. And each year she’s refusing to let him back into her life.
Jake (Jay Jablonski) owns a fish store and tries to get back with his ex. He’s so passionate about this, his co-workers are convinced there’s something wrong with his brain, if he’s so caught up in this dead end story. They try to set him up with an “Italian” girl (Cerina Vincent), while making him pose as an Italian too, so that they can both enter a party.
Let’s say he’s an utter idiot and says and does all the bad things. While she is prepared to be a real Italian wife, he’s still talking about his lover, and acts like an airhead.
Even if the movie is not in my top 10 comedies, can’t say it failed to amuse me. It’s outrageous in some moments, it’s silly and yet definitely funny. You will laugh and cringe at the same time, seeing how stupid a man can be. Don’t expect an amazing movie, just expect to be entertained for 100 minutes.
